artist portfolio using the Koken CMS

Pages with original artwork for sale include a contact form so interested customers can check the availability. The Message area has a quick message already filled in, making the process quicker and easier for the user. I also include two hidden fields that are submitted with the form: the name and ID of the art piece.

John Jett needed a new website that conformed to current standards and put more emphasis on selling commissions. After interviewing him and writing up the design brief, I created a mood board and wireframe to make sure he was happy with the direction I was going in before I began coding.

One of the reasons John didn't update his old site is because it was difficult and time-consuming to add new images. I looked into different CMS options and decided Koken would allow him to update his site with ease.

I themed a responsive site for Koken that scales smoothly on all screen sizes and uses smaller images when necessary to ensure fast loading on mobile devices. I used SVGs whenever possible.

I wrote the site copy and set up a form that allows users to subscribe to John's RSS feed.

Like many people, John finds it difficult to talk about himself, so I took a picture he drew of himself and added humorous text. It helps get across the friendly attitude he wants to project.

At the bottom of the Shop page, I use credit card and PayPal logos to make it clear that it is easy and secure to shop here.
